Reviews

“The movie theater is definitely the best in the area, with the crowds to prove it.”
“Five anchor stores, a great food court, and numerous other shops keep you busy indoors too.”
“My favorite stops are Urban Outfitters, Crate & Barrel, Banana Republic, J. Crew, and Pottery Barn.”
Pros
  • I am from out of town and when I to the area I usually come here to find a good eating place and a good movie if I am in the mood...
  • This is a nice mall...
  • The theaters are nice, as are all the many restaurants on the outdoor street...
  • The streets are pretty cool, even if they are utterly fakey-fake with fake old ads and fake "streets...
  • But there are a lot of great stores here that you may need, and you may not want to go to the much larger, and possibly better mall in Raleigh...
Cons
  • Southpoint is the worst thing in the Triangle...
  • I'm not a huge mall guy, but as far as malls go, it's not bad...
  • Also, Southpoint seems to be especially bad when it comes to the kiosk vendors who want to "ask you a question" to try and sell you their hand cream or whatever they're shilling these days...
Service & Staff
  • I also heard a table next to my party saying its never been good while we were waiting on our order...
  • And, as a party of 1, it's pretty unusual to have a long wait for a table...
  • There's even a little gelato shop tucked in there for a late night treat...
  • It feels like a little village in there and I can't wait to save up some dough to throw down on my return visit...
  • Sitting outside in the storm waiting in the car for it to pass wow buckets!
Food & Drinks
  • This place is really Cool considering mostly Ununique shopping opportunities and of the Chain Stores these are my Favorite Chain Stores:Urban OutfittersCrate & BarrelAppleIt's SugarFirebirds (a good Burger)Cheese Cake Factory (only for the Cheese Cake, I dislike the food)Movie Theather...
  • My qualms are that the food court sucks and there is a shocking dearth of coffee...
  • (No, I am not going into Barnes & Noble just to get coffee!
  • ) There are a couple options for fro-yo, but I really want them to add 1 or 2 coffee spots plus a place to get bubble tea...
  • More ethnic food options here would be much appreciated, such as a sushi bar (kaiten sushi!
  • Chammps was a sportsbar and seemed OK; we only got drinks there...
  • Maggiano's was expensive, buttery/garlicy food that seems like a very upscale Olive Garden (I am not sure if i am trying to compliment or insult them)...
Atmosphere
  • They have a BEAUTIFUL outdoor section and often have entertainment including live music on Friday and Saturday nights...
  • Aesthetically, this is a beautiful, fairly new mall whose indoor "storefronts" and other decorative touches imitate the shops of a downtown main street while retaining a fairly upscale feel...
Prices
  • This is a good mall with several decent (if overpriced) restaurants and a movie theatre...
  • The movie theater located at this mall is not a regal, which is great because the ticket prices are a little cheaper...
  • But it carries with it the woes of any mall: it gets very crowded, parking is horrible on the weekends, prices are high, and many (not all!
  • If you're craving meaty, delicious, greasy goodness, Five Guys is pretty much the only worthwhile option in the court...
Summary
  • The overall feel to this mall is so great, and all the stores are kept so nicely...
  • I do highly recommend the fresh lemonade and other drinks at California Pizza Kitchen though...
  • All in all I recommend this place to anybody looking to either do some shopping or just walk around and spend some time people watching...
  • The only complaint I have is that I wish the restaurant and food choices were a little more varied at this mall, but overall as a new mom, I'm a happy camper...
