Reviews

“Between staff knowledge, the budget table and the basement beer cellar In Fine Spirits is a fantastic value.”
“We ordered about a million of the small plates and they were all delicious.”
“Cocktails are hand crafted with batch distilled liquors and the new world wine list changes every few months.”
Pros
  • I've loved this place since it opened, whined when its adjoining bar / restaurant closed, but still stroll in regularly for their excellent selection of lower-priced whites and reds...
  • As for the rest of the small bites, love that dishes are prepared with house-grown produce, and especially enjoyed the fig preserve that came with our cheese and charcuterie (which is always a nice deal)...
  • Lucky for you, I don't have a monopoly on obtaining a good attitude, just mosey yourself over to this adorable little wine shop and get your greedy little hands on some good vino finds and even better deals...
  • This lover of deep, broody reds found herself 4 new amazing sounding wines to try and kept the tab under $60!
  • it's great if you're shopping by price and not grape, when looking for a specific Tempranillo I've been on the hunt for I found myself wandering like a lost jew in the desert...
Cons
  • ] He was so apologetic, and so obviously genuine in his explanation, that he turned what could have been a bad situation around...
  • The joint is also loud as hell - don't go on a weekend night expecting an intimate wine bar experience...
  • Pretty sure it'd be a bad, bad thing if I lived around the corner...
  • After waiting a long time for them to come back out, they were just as firm and were topped with the same egg as they came with--by that time, the yolk was completely cooked and the poor little side looked absolutely pitiful (and the hardness of the beans was too much to get past)...
Service & Staff
  • Two bonuses: frequent, impromptu tastings offered by the staff, and that they buy their own barrel of Buffalo Trace...
  • Great selection, informative tastings, welcoming staff and reasonable prices!
  • And since the event was held as a benefit for the Andersonville Development Corporation, it's not like the store was turning a profit...
  • I've been into quite a few wine shops were the staff is snobby and the prices were sickening; it's quite the opposite here...
  • The staff is very warm and knowledgeable, the selection and prices are fantastic...
Food & Drinks
  • Currently, they're carrying an updated and interesting collection of seasonal wines [sparkling cranberry and apple from Montral]...
  • I've been stocking my wine fridge from this place for years...
  • Love making discoveries of small-vineyard wines I wouldn't know of elsewhere and I really appreciate the "value" tables...
  • While shopping this weekend for a few new bottles and feeling a little over the humongo Sam's overwhelmedness syndrome, I decided to try the likes of a smaller, more intimate wine boutique...
  • I'm looking forward to trying the wine bar next door and to attending some of their Saturday tastings and classes...
  • Overall, IFS was a great spot to add some heft to my wine collection while still leaving enough cheddar left over for some, well, cheddar (actually chevre) to go with my new selections...
  • The store was sponsoring the first annual Andersonville Wine Walk, a wine tasting that takes place at various locations throughout Andersonville...
Atmosphere
  • The music's not trying too hard or shouting too loud...
  • The decor felt cheap and thrown together in a haphazard way...
  • It was a little loud with the crowd, and hard to hear, but the atmosphere is great and nice with a group of people...
  • They seem to always have the same music playing which I have on my Ipod which seems a bit creepy...
Prices
  • Fortunately I was happy to branch out and felt right at home with the two great tables set up in the middle of the shop - one for whites and one for reds - that boast a myriad of depths and varietals all for under $12 each...
  • In this economy the smallest courtesy we've earned is the ability to at least get drunk on the cheap...
  • At the same time, they are committed to keeping at least half of their stock in the under $20 range, so trying something new isn't a huge risk...
  • So, while your wallet will be disappointed in the lack of $3 wines, your tongue will be dazzled when it gets a taste of your fantastic purchase...
Summary
  • Everything about the place makes you want to hang out for a good long while...
  • I went with the waiters recommendation and started with the Angostura Sour which was the perfect way to start my night...
  • The waitress was real good about offereing her recommendations ...
