Reviews

“A few friends had the butternut squash ravioli which was delicious.”
“The goat cheese and potatoes tasted so good together, it was worth scraping every bite off the plate.”
“We shared a turkey wrap (which came with a heaping pile of some really awesome sweet potato fries) and the spinach salad.”
Pros
  • I definitely recommend adding the braised pork shoulder - melt in your mouth good...
  • I love that when you ask for a mimosa, they ask you which one...
  • I have a massive sweet tooth and love apples, but it was over the top for me (weird, I usually like this sort of thing)...
  • If you focus on the food and allow for some bumps in the service I think you'll have a good experience...
  • May just be the best darn veggie burger I've had in Chicago- rivaling the veggie burgers at J Alexander and Bandera...
Cons
  • Ta ta Cru and hello Feast!
  • Um, no need to make the customers feel bad!
  • " I am really really sorry to read about your bad service experience at Feast and as the owner I am very embarrassed...
  • There is nothing worse than going out for dinner with a time crunch and then having bad service because you are already on edge to eat and get out on time...
  • Everyone we encountered seemed on edge, to the point that they almost made you feel bad for them...
  • Excellent food, but poor service...
Service & Staff
  • The breakfast burrito was on point here...
  • Our waitress was of the "old school diner" variety, she did her job reasonably efficiently, but barked when she needed something...
  • Some of the other reviews seem to agree that service can be a little iffy here...
  • While it looks a bit different from their Bucktown location (still has a bit of the Cru feel) it's the same delicious food and mediocre service...
  • and our waitress had no problem letting us know she thought so...
Food & Drinks
  • I had the challah french toast, which had blueberries and a white sugary drizzle on top (think cinnabon), not a health food but quite tasty...
  • Their oj tasted fresh, but my side of bacon was a little limp...
  • winos will have to go elsewhere for their wine and cheese flights now because Feast has opened a second location in the Gold Coast...
  • Apparently it was burger and beer night for $12 (who knew?
  • ), but since we skipped the beer our waitress charged us just $10 for each veggie burger...
  • Everything--food, service, ambiance was just average...
  • The coffee was great and probably my favorite part of the meal...
Atmosphere
  • For what it's worth, decor was nice and looks like they have private space for very large groups...
  • Every time I've come here I have been amazed at how cozy and un-pretentious the atmosphere of the restaurant is, and I always want to come back again and introduce it to my friends...
  • (brushetta and hummus plate)Overall good service, good atmosphere, great food...
Prices
  • And this may also be the cheapest dinner I've had in Chicago!
  • The food tasted good and was reasonably priced...
  • We were willing to pay but he would not take the spinach which we had just eaten on the spinach salad and steam it for her which is what she really wanted...
  • Dinner with salad, entree and a drink ran about $35 per person which was quite reasonable given the quantity of food...
Summary
  • There was some random art on the walls but overall the space felt big and plain...
  • When the check finally was delivered it was hilariously awkward--some guy who must have worked in the kitchen and spoke little to no English, came out and pointed to the check holder in his hand and said, "Check?
  • After a couple of consultations with the kitchen- they did find some broccoli that they did finally steam but I really don't understand the hassle...
  • I'd also highly recommend the butternut squash ravioli...
  • When the waitress finally reappeared with the dishes, my man asked for them to be wrapped up and for the check to be brought...
  • It's back to where I'd recommend it...
  • finally a bus boy brings my water and place settings...
